Titre : Heterogeneous Ferroelectric Solid Solutions : Phases and Domain States Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Topolov, Vitaly Yu, Auteur Editeur : springer Année de publication : 2012 Collection : Springer Series in Materials Science, ISSN 0933-033X Importance : 156P Présentation : ill., couv. ill. en coul Format : 24*16cm ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-3-642-22482-9 Prix : 129,99 € Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Phases Domain States Heterogeneous Index. décimale : 669.94 TOP Résumé : The book deals with perovskite-type ferroelectric solid solutions for modern materials science and applications, solving problems of complicated heterophase/domain structures near the morphotropic phase boundary and applications to various systems with morphotropic phases. In this book domain state–interface diagrams are presented for the interpretation of heterophase states in perovskite-type ferroelectric solid solutions. It allows to describe the stress relief in the presence of polydomain phases, the behavior of unit-cell parameters of coexisting phases and the effect of external electric fields. The novelty of the book consists in (i) the first systematization of data about heterophase states and their evolution in ferroelectric solid solutions (ii) the general interpretation of heterophase and domain structures at changing temperature, composition or electric field (iii) the complete analysis of interconnection domain structures, unit-cell parameters changes, heterophase structures and stress relief.

Présentation : ill.;couv.;schémas Format : 24x16 cm. ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-3-642-28358-1 Note générale : index Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Micro-fabrication Lasers : Industrial applications. Résumé : Laser assisted fabrication involves shaping of materials using laser as a source of heat. It can be achieved by removal of materials (laser assisted cutting, drilling, etc.), deformation (bending, extrusion), joining (welding, soldering) and addition of materials (surface cladding or direct laser cladding). This book on Laser assisted Fabrication' is aimed at developing in-depth engineering concepts on various laser assisted macro and micro-fabrication techniques with the focus on application and a review of the engineering background of different micro/macro-fabrication techniques, thermal history of the treated zone and microstructural development and evolution of properties of the treated zone. Titre : Liquid crystalline semiconductors : materials, properties and applications Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Bushby, Richard J, Auteur ; Kelly, Stephen M, Auteur ; O'Neill,Mary, Auteur Editeur : springer Année de publication : 2013 Collection : Springer Series in Materials Science, ISSN 0933-033X num. 169 Importance : 272 p. Présentation : ill.;couv.;schémas;courbe Format : 24x16 cm. ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-90-481-2872-3 Note générale : index Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Liquid semiconductors Organic electronics Électronique : Matériaux. Résumé : This is an exciting stage in the development of organic electronics. It is no longer an area of purely academic interest as increasingly real applications are being developed, some of which are beginning to come on-stream. Areas that have already been commercially developed or which are under intensive development include organic light emitting diodes (for flat panel displays and solid state lighting), organic photovoltaic cells, organic thin film transistors (for smart tags and flat panel displays) and sensors. Within the family of organic electronic materials, liquid crystals are relative newcomers. The first electronically conducting liquid crystals were reported in 1988 but already a substantial literature has developed. The advantage of liquid crystalline semiconductors is that they have the easy processability of amorphous and polymeric semiconductors but they usually have higher charge carrier mobilities. Their mobilities do not reach the levels seen in crystalline organics but they circumvent all of the difficult issues of controlling crystal growth and morphology. Liquid crystals self-organise, they can be aligned by fields and surface forces and, because of their fluid nature, defects in liquid crystal structures readily self-heal. With these matters in mind this is an opportune moment to bring together a volume on the subject of ©Liquid Crystalline Semiconductors¹. The field is already too large to cover in a comprehensive manner so the aim has been to bring together contributions from leading researchers which cover the main areas of the chemistry (synthesis and structure/function relationships), physics (charge transport mechanisms and optical properties) and potential applications in photovoltaics, organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) and organic field-effect transistors (OFETs). This book will provide a useful introduction to the field for those in both industry and academia and it is hoped that it will help to stimulate future developments.
